Technical Assistance Requests

Technical Assistance Interests

The Mitchell Kapor Foundation tries to be a leader in using technology to further our mission. We are partnering with Kapor Enterprises, Inc.'s (KEI) Creative Team to make our technology and communications services available to our key partner organizations.

Due to the large number of key partners and the large time commitment that accompanies technology-related assistance, we can only provide limited support through these technical assistance requests.  Our staff will be able to spend up to an average of 30 hours per approved project.  Also, in order to make services available to as many organizations as possible, key partners may only submit one technical assistance request per year, so key partners should consider how best to capitalize on KEI Creative help before submitting a request.

KEI Creative will be providing assistance in the following areas:

  • Printed Media Assistance
  • The world is not totally digital, yet. Until that time comes, KEI Creative can assist with the production of invitations, event programs, brochures, reports, newsletters, and other print materials. We value sustainability, designing with re-usability as a goal. This assistance will not include printing costs, but we can help organizations find appropriate printers.

  • Video Assistance

    KEI Creative is skilled in all aspects of video production and post-production. We can assist with video idea development, shooting footage or event coverage (with no editing), limited editing of partners' existing footage, and other video-related assistance. Because video help can be very time-consuming, we recommend that key partners have well-defined outcomes for all video requests, particularly requests where any editing help is being requested.

  • Events/Presentation Assistance
  • If you have an important event on the horizon, KEI Creative can work with you to develop a concept and create materials to reflect that theme. We can produce event logos, email and paper invitations, programs, signage, slideshows, videos, and any other traditional or non traditional materials to make your event unique and memorable.

  • Visual Identity Assistance

    KEI Creative can help you craft a cohesive and attractive visual identity. Strategically representing your mission, we can create a variety of materials including your logo, logotype, website, blog, letterhead, business cards, etc. that project professionalism and align with your values.

  • Website Assistance

    It's no secret that we use the Internet to seek information and learn about what others are doing to make change. Whether it be designing a basic website or blog, refreshing it, or implementing dynamic features, KEI Creative takes an innovative approach to engage and attract web visitors.  Website development is another area that can be very time-consuming. We recommend that key partners have well-defined outcomes for all website requests.

Review Process

We accept technical assistance requests on a rolling basis with no deadlines. However, in order to make services available to as many organizations as possible, key partners may only submit one technical assistance request per year. Applicants must have a conversation with the Technical Assistance Manager BEFORE submitting a technical assistance request. We strive to be responsive to requests, so we will try to notify all technical assistance applicants by email within two weeks of receiving a request. Please be sure to include any time-sensitive needs in your online request form.

For work that we’re interested in potentially supporting, we will contact your organization to set up an initial meeting with our technology team. Depending on the nature of your technical assistance request, you may be required to submit additional information prior to this meeting. Upon completion of all projects, key partners will be required to complete a short evaluation form about the experience.

We have a paper-free process, so all technical assistance requests must be submitted using our online application. Note that these requests are for in-kind technical assistance from KEI Creative only. Applicants must have a conversation with the Technical Assistance Manager BEFORE submitting a technical assistance request.
